   The Water Vascular System
   The water vascular system is a hydraulic system unique to echinoderms. It circulates filtered seawater throughout the body, primarily serving two functions: locomotion via the tube feet and sometimes aiding in respiration. Water enters the system through a sieve-like plate on the aboral surface called the madreporite.
