    Dom Pedro I (born Pedro de Alcântara Francisco António João Carlos Xavier de Paula Miguel Rafael Joaquim José Gonzaga Pascoal Cipriano Serafim de Bragança e Bourbon; 1798–1834) was the first Emperor of Brazil and, briefly, King of Portugal as Pedro IV. Born in the Queluz Palace near Lisbon, he was the fifth child and first son of King Dom João VI of Portugal and Queen Carlota Joaquina of Spain.
