Frequency Response Function (FRF)
When the excitation is harmonic, $\mathbf{f}(t) = \mathbf{F}0 \sin(\omega t)$, the structure responds at the same frequency, but with a phase lag. The relationship between the input force amplitude ($\mathbf{F}0$) and the resulting displacement amplitude ($\mathbf{X}(\omega)$) is described by the Frequency Response Function (FRF) ($\mathbf{H}(\omega)$):
