    The TAS design utilizes three high-precision monochromator and analyzer crystals to select incident and scattered neutron energies ($Ei$ and $Ef$), respectively. By fixing $Ei$ and scanning the analyzer crystal, or by fixing the energy transfer $\hbar \omega = Ei - E_f$ (constant $\omega$ scan), detailed constant-energy slices through the reciprocal space $(\mathbf{Q}, \omega)$ map can be obtained.
